Kuits expands into 22,000-square-feet in Manchester

Manchester, April 2026: Manchester commercial law firm, Kuits Solicitors, has doubled its office footprint at Bruntwood SciTech’s Blackfriars House, committing to 22,000 sq ft for the next 10 years. The firm enlisted the services of multi-disciplinary property consultancy, OBI, who led on leasing negotiation, workplace consultancy, interior design, and project management.

The expansion underlines the firm’s continued growth and provides the platform for further investment in people, client service and long-term ambitions in the city.

Established in 1909, Kuits is a leading UK200-listed commercial law firm, advising clients nationally and internationally from its Manchester office. The firm has been based at Blackfriars House for the past 10 years, which offers amenities including an on-site gym, a ground-floor cafe9, a roof garden, and a popular auditorium and event space, which have recently been upgraded following a £1.4m refurbishment project.

The new designs of the additional space include a new client lounge, meeting spaces, collaboration areas and a flexible working environment.

Steve Eccleston, Managing Partner of Kuits, said: “As we approach our 10-year anniversary in Blackfriars, we are delighted to expand our great working environment for our team and clients. In the new space, we have designed more collaboration areas, a new client area, and bespoke spaces that meet the specific needs for all of our team.

“We’ve seen an uptick in new national and international clients wanting a Manchester firm with local knowledge, and our new working environment, alongside the city-centre location, provides the best platform to continue the firm’s impressive growth ambitions.”

Will Lewis, CEO and Founder of OBI, said: “OBI has worked with Kuits for over 10 years now, and we are delighted to have secured this transaction on their behalf. Any opportunity for multiple disciplines in the team to come together on one project is always a proud moment for us and a chance for OBI to show exactly what it is capable of.”

Blackfriars House forms part of the St Mary’s Parsonage Strategic Regeneration Framework district, where a number of high-profile new developments are expected to come forward in the next few years, including the Kendals building.

Joshua Whiteley, Commercial Director at Bruntwood SciTech, added: “Kuits is a long-standing customer and their decision to commit to Blackfriars for the long term reflects both the strength of the building and the wider ecosystem we’ve created. Their expansion is a great example of how we support businesses to grow and evolve within our spaces, and we looked forward to continuing to work with the team as they build on their success here.”
